Logan Fire Department

Welcome to the Logan Fire Department

Burning clearing index for Airshed 4 (Cache Valley)

The mission of the Logan Fire Department is to provide timely and effective emergency response, fire prevention practices, and fire and life safety public education.

All Logan firefighters are trained Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics and are on duty 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Logan Fire Department responds to approximately 4200 incidents each year. Routine calls include a wide variety of situations: medical emergencies, vehicle accident extrications, structure fires, auto and/or trash fires (i.e., dumpster fires, landfill fires, etc.), grass and wildland fires, hazardous materials spills/releases, children locked in vehicles, cliff side rescues, water rescues, aircraft emergencies at the airport, carbon monoxide calls, elevator rescues, etc. The Logan Fire Department also performs more than 1,500 fire prevention inspections of new and existing local businesses annually and conducts approximately 150 public safety education presentations and station tours a year. We visit schools, church groups, and civic organizations and coordinate with local businesses to provide public safety information to the community. As a lead partner in the Cache Valley Public Fire Education Coalition, we regularly place public safety advertisements in the local newspaper, on several radio stations, and on all of the movie theater screens in Cache County.

Firework Restrictions 2015

Firework Restrictions 2015

As you have probably noticed, firework stands are popping up in the usual places across Logan City. To maintain compliance with Utah Fireworks Act (R710-2) and protect vulnerable properties, the Logan City Fire Chief has restricted the use of fireworks in those areas where fires are easily started. See official order at this link: Simply put, you cannot light fireworks within 300’ of undeveloped ground or dry vegetation anywhere in Logan City. Additionally, please remember that many fireworks for sale in other states are not legal in Utah. This order shall be in effect for the period of July 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015.

Violators of this order are subject to criminal prosecution pursuant to Logan Municipal Code §8.04.050.

Have a Safe and Happy July!
